Our 21 day intensive 200 hour program is ideal for passionate students of yoga and aspiring teachers alike. This course is specially designed to create awareness in individual practice and to develop and deepen the understanding of wise teaching. This course is recognized by Yoga Alliance, the world’s largest and best-known registry of yoga teachers and yoga teacher training courses. Upon completion you will be able to register with Yoga Alliance as an Registered Yoga Teacher (200 hour level), giving the opportunity to work in beautiful locations, here in the UK and worldwide.
We will guide you through multiple aspects and styles of yoga, including the cultural/traditional and the professional/scientific. We do not follow any specific brand or style of yoga, but rather draw from the styles of Hatha and Vinyasa and the work of various eminent scientists, who have contributed valuable insight in the fields of Laughter Therapy, Postural Therapy, Yoga Therapy, Psychosomatic yoga, and meditation techniques to bring you a holistic approach to yoga and yoga teaching.
The main objective within this yoga teacher training course is Awareness. You will have the opportunity to learn to bring awareness to the body, breath and mind. To bring mindfulness to these three areas, we will explore the connections between the body and mind, and how neither can function at its full capacity without awareness of breath. Breath is the bridge between body and mind
We focus on eight main areas of study:
1. Yoga postures (Asana) - Alignment and Healing 2. Yoga breathing techniques (Pranayama) 3. Yoga philosophy and its application in modern life 4. Art of Teaching with meditative awareness 5. Yoga teaching as a carrier to help humanity and personal growth 6. Myofascial Healing Therapy 7. Art of Observation and Adjustment 8. Anatomy and Physiology
This multi-style yoga course contains Healing-based techniques that aims to balance and restore correct posture in practitioners. The approach of this training is to allow the Yoga Practitioner to find a neutral position from toe to head. This includes the feet, knees pelvis, spine, rib cage and Skull. Finding a more balanced position, according to modern studies, will allow the human body to develop strength and stamina. It will also help the body to heal faster and more efficiently. Adjusting yoga asana with postural adjustment techniques is distinctive and scientific, with many yoga teachers and therapists using this technique to help the student learn to use their body in a more balanced way, in not only their own yoga practice, but daily life as well.
Some common symptoms which our multi-style course aims to address and heal include:
Hip, pelvic and lower/middle back pain
Abdominal, chest wall and rib cage misalignments
Headaches, knee injuries and cervical pain
Stress related problems such as insomnia, anxiety, digestive and respiratory problems
To bring strength and flexibility to the whole body and lubricate the joints
To understand the mind and come out from its negative patterns
Shortness of breath and lack of stamina
We are offering a completely different approach in this Yoga Teacher Training, the approach being the Breath. Your breath will guide you towards correct alignment of the Body and Mind. We will understand the importance of breathing with the diaphragm as well as explore the effects of misaligned breath. We will understand how the correct practice of Asana and Pranayama then leads to a meditative state (Dhyana), a state of the no-mind. It is these moments of no-mind which will then guide you deeper into the true presence of your own being. The diaphragm is a muscle in the abdominal cavity that contracts during inhalation. With incorrect and imbalanced posture, the rib cage and spine are in a position which reduces or refuses the expansion of the diaphragm as well as not allowing the correct muscles to work. With incorrect posture, the chest will collapse, resulting in a shallow and short breath. This will lead to other muscles being overused and strained, known as muscle imbalance. According to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, an undeveloped and poor breathing pattern is one of the main reasons for many psychological problems.
We will guide you to enter into the posture with awareness of breath in such a meditative way that your yoga practice and teaching will lead you towards the oneness of Body and Mind. Together we will find and explore the real message of Patanjali "Yogasch Chiita Vritti nirodha” - Yoga Means Cessation Of Mind.
